English pistol case powder flask
« on: July 25, 2009, 11:17:19 PM »
Hi Folks,
I thought some of you might like to see a powder flask I made for a cased set of pistols.  It is a simple flask, not one with compartments for flints and round balls.  However, it is authentic.  It is all hand made.  I bought copper tubing, cast the end caps, turned down the spout, filed out the lever and valve, and forged the spring.  Most were covered with leather glued on the metal body but I really liked the polished copper and left it that way (as some originals were).  The spout throws about 25 grains of 3F powder.  I included a photo of a cast end cap just as it came out of the mold.
