Another handsome Kentucky Pistol! Someone has superlative taste in fine pistols. This one is in the same league as the others that have passed before us earlier.
This piece has incised carving of an unusual style, very nice silver inlays and excellent engraving. The sights are big and bold, the hammer is finely hand made and the engraving is
as good as you will find anywhere.
The overall effect is of a well designed pistol which has been very well constructed and is a real gem.

Another comment:

"This is a well made pistol, with good architecture and great trigger guard engraving. However, I believe the incised carving is a later addition. I base this on "copying" and enlarging the pictures, and noting that the carving is uneven, has "stop and start" places in it, doesn't hold evenly spaced borders around the tang and particularly underneath the side facings, and is not of the same quality as the rest of the gun. The leaf pattern on the rear side facing is done in the old "spoon carving" style of the late 1800s. The carving appears to be a later embellishment to an otherwise great pistol."
