new long hunter knife

This one is ready to send to Oregon. 8 1/2” x 1 1/2” x 3/16” blade with pewter bolster, elk antler handle with through tang peened over an iron end cap light aging.

Amazing work.

What I know about knife making could be written on the head of a pin with enough room left for the New Testament...

So, a dumb question: When you peen the tang over is that done cold? I would assume if it were done hot the heat transfer would burn the antler, correct?

it is done cold, as you begin peening it with small strikes of the ball peen I guess the steel warms up and eventually it starts to peen (?) a little easier.  It can be a rather boring long process and requires some patience.
