Guido,
Managed to get an all wood ramrod in it, but I'd still like to do a metal cored one.
I'll be back up in God's country in a couple more weeks.
I'm working on one for Mr Fleming, that Charlie started and can't finish.
In His grip,

Dane

small patch; Sir, All I can say is, IMHO. "This without doubt is the finest looking stock I have ever seen". Started building in 1974. Note the grain pattern in the butt stock. Last, but by no means, the finish is very high grade, A ++++. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. AJ.

Very nice rifle. You were right not to put a patchbox on it with that wood imho.

David and Al,
I need to finish up an Early Lancaster for a friend, then I think it's time to work on that matchlock.
The hard part is gonna be the lock.

Dane, that's plumb purty! As much as I like patch boxes, you were right to just let the wood do the talking on this one.

Dane, which of Zornes' locks is that one?
When I laid out the 5" x 7/8" Haddaway lock on my stock I decided it was too small, so I ordered Larry's A. Albrecht lock that is 5 3/8" x 1". I was concerned with too much wood thickness below the lock.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
That is the classic.  It's right between a large Siler, and a small Siler.

Goodness me!  That turned out great.  When I saw it on your bench you said "No patch box." Great decision.  Shoot it yet?

Hey Phil,
Haven't shot it yet.  Had to do a little work to the lock.  Long story.
We should go.
