British Officers Gorget
« on: March 30, 2020, 05:46:43 PM »
This is a recently completed mid 18th Century British Officers Gorget.I did it as a study to practice my shading and represents a higher level of engraving than is normally found on gorgets with some being pretty naive.I have some upcoming projects that will require a higher level of engraving and I wanted to try some things out.

I’d say you have the ‘higher level’ thing whooped. Gorgeous.

Mitch, certainly “next level” as far as I’m concerned.  Stunning piece!

I don't think any maker in London back 200 years ago could surpass that.  Excellent work Mitch.

That is outstanding work Mitch!  Your work can go onward - but I fail to see how it could get much more "upward".  Really outstanding.

What Brian said.

My living history persona as a leatherworker doesn't require a gorget.  That said, your work makes me want one.   :-)
