Quarentine busy work
« on: April 03, 2020, 07:18:38 PM »
I've been holed up since March 1st trying to keep myself occupied. The Tiger King wasn't doing it for me so I gathered up as many gun parts that I had in drawers & hanging on the wall. I had enough to make a gun so I began March 3rd. The maple stock was about an inch short for the barrel I had so I scabbed a piece of wood on front & inlet the barrel. I found a lg. Siler and an unused trigger from I don't remember. I pretty much finished the gun yesterday. Barrel is one I got from Salvo's stash. .54cal smooth x 47 1/2", no butt plate, side plate or entry pipe. I painted the nosecap black (That is what I scabbed on). It's a simple gun for a simple man, me.

I like it.  An attractive and functional looking common man's gun.  Cool.  God Bless,   Marc

Should be a good shooter.  I find that butt pitch angle to be quite slippery on the some of my coats, though
but it certainly prevents cheek slap. My English-style 1/2 stock smoothbore is like that.

Great job, Keb. Sure did make good use of those parts. I was thinking Ol' Salvo yesterday.

As chance would have it, I was shooting my .20 Salvo today and enjoying every minute of it

You are going to have to find a stump hole to stick the butt into to be able to load it! Bet it is fun to shoot!

Plastikosmd: Glad to hear you are still shooting that little .20cal. That's old Tipster. He was a big help around the shop. He would always clean any small parts off the bench for me.

BobHill: I started burning some of Salvo's old bow staves & rifle blanks today. The worms got to a lot of it.

577SXS: I'm tall enough that a hole is not necessary.
