A little adjustable powder measure (More pics added)
« on: April 04, 2020, 10:47:04 PM »
Spent Friday in the shop taking a break from my latest pistol project and assembled an adjustable powder measure idea I have had in my head for quite some time.  Steel measure, 30 to 90 grains.  I planned on doing another one in brass, but dang, that was a lot more work than I had envisioned.

Is it spring loaded so it stops at certain grains?  Lust-worthy work sir. Love it. Marc

Yes, you compress the lever with your thumb, slide the stem to the charge you want and then release your thumb from the lever.   Here is a picture of the individual parts before assembly.  You can see the flat spring that is riveted to the underside of the lever that keeps the pin engaged.

This looks like a better idea than the thumb screw on the stem idea but no holes for inbetween loads is not that big of a deal.

Brilliant David! This is awesome.

That looks like it could have started life as a .45 ACP barrel.

Yes, the spring has 2 rivets.  I am thinking about making the lever on the next one out of 1084 spring stock and making the loop at the end of the lever large enough to contact the measure body thus providing the spring tension to keep the pin engaged in the slide.

If you ever make an extra Dave I’d love to get my hands on either of the measures posted. Super cool stuff.
