Kevin, I think it came out very nice!  I like the distressed look you got on the plug...my daughter does something similar with vintage furniture.  So, what’s next?

Greg, thanks for the kind words,  As to what's next: There's a wood ball tube project that got a small crack in the open end begging for a repair, a thick tip of a cow horn that looks like it should become a powder measure, and a small skinny horn without much curve whose future is not yet determined.

Tim, Many thanks.  Looking at a many horns here on the ALR forum, including a bunch of yours, inspired me to attempt the light aging on this project.
