Little belt axe

I've made a half dozen or more of these little belt axes and always let someone talk me out of it. I'm putting my grandsons initials on this blade so it won't go anywhere. I showed it to him today but he didn't seem to impressed. That might be because he is only five months old.
This one has a 5-1/2" head and a 15" handle made of Kentucky hickory.

Very cool Brian. Handy size. Make another one so I can talk you out of it. I’d love one of those.

Brian, is it wrought, or mild steel? Sure is a purty little feller! I need to get busy, and make up a couple punches and drifts, and try not to burn my fingers.
Nice!

That's very cool. Wouldn't mind one of those myself.

Thanks guys. The head is wrought iron. I like using wrought the best for axes because it seems to weld better than steel. The head is taken from an original, but I beefed it up a bit.
