Black Bill Walker was a famous Smoky Mountain legend,...he left Tuckaleechee and started his own community called "Walkers Valley" where Tremont is now,... much has been written about him,... a good source is the book "Lure of the Great Smokies" by Robert Lindsay Mason... Also "google" William Marion Walker,... some great info on the internet,.... is great country around here,... much pioneer history, too,.... enjoy,... CCF...
