Just got home found roses in bloom (wife had cut 6 already today) and hanging baskets blooming. 83 degrees out (thats late June early July temperature here in the Willamette Valley).

The tulips bloomed a few days ago along with other stuff.  Yep, had a snow last week but the temperature and the ground were so warm it melted mostly on contact with the rest melting in 20 minutes.  If colder it would have been 2"-3".

The apple blossoms were out in a different part of the city. Ours, on the North side of the house, are
still only budding, but the leaves have started to unfurl all over, cotton woods, aspen, mountain ash
on the street, the crimson maple in our front yard - all greening up.(except for the crimson maple, of
course, it's red-ding up)

We had a hard freeze and may have lost the apples and peaches.

I'm further from the equator than Daryl, but our crab apple is in bloom...on the decline now.  Here's a pic...

This is the first year here in Middle Tennessee in 5 years we didn't lose the Peaches... So nice to see them laden. Can't wait to ride the 4wheeler through the Orchard to the range and snag a peach off the limb!

Best Part of Spring in The Willamette Valley is the roses. You can see why Portland is called the city of roses, only we live 30 miles west in the beautiful wine country of Yamhill county.

I'd tell you what the weather is like here but this time of year is so unstable that it's hard to keep up...

Typically it begins with warm temperatures, a south wind, and enough humidity to hard boil an elephant. Just when you think you're going to drown in humidity the low pressure cold front from the north moves in and all heck breaks loose for several hours... Then you have a day or two of relatively cool damp cloudy days... Then it warms up and starts all over.

Meanwhile you can HEAR the grass growing.

There's different weather. Seems in a lot of areas, spring came late this year.
Maybe it's true about global cooling trends now?
