Little banded horn from 100% salvaged materials
« on: May 14, 2020, 05:42:20 PM »
Cleaning out the shop this week I
Found everything needed in my
Junk / scrap bins to make up this
Little banded horn. It has a turned
band at the base, hollow domed plug
Made from an old talcum powder shaker
(I think that’s what it was). Applied
horn Collar and antler tip. The turnings and
Horn were Started and then rejected from other projects
But I didn’t have the heart to throw them
Away at the time.
TC

How big is that begger? Like the recycle idea. Looks like it would be a good pocket horn.

It’s about 9 inches on the curve
Not counting the strap button.

Recycled into a nice functional piece of equipment. Good job!

Tell the truth and shame the devil...isn't there a special gratification when you can craft a bunch of discards into something as great looking as this horn?

Those scraps certainly ended up being put to good use.
