You have to be pleased with that. Very nice Jaeger. I really like those Poser mounts. Is the walnut English? What caliber is the rifle?

I cheated and used black walnut... it does have stripe the entire length though. Just a contemp. gun lol. Its a 29" .58 cal Rayl barrel. Thanks for the replies.

You've created a most handsome rifle. The design makes for an awesome hunting rifle. I like the understated carving...it is a compliment to the relief castings. Overall, very nice.

Thank you for the kind words. I had fun building this one, something a bit different from anything else I have built. Sort of a get out of the system build for me.

For anyone going to the CLA show next week, I will have it on display with a few other pieces.

Very nice indeed...

I'm not sure I've ever seen a lock which had a frizzen that flipped so far open it ended up basically in a horizontal position...what lock is that?

Another great N. Georgia gun!!

I really like the carving. I have a piece of black walnut sitting here waiting for my next gun. I will have to get some pointers from you.

I was telling Wayne Elliot about you the other day. He will have a table in the antique show next week at CLA showing his Wiley Higgens and other southern guns! Be sure to stop by and meet him. He lives near me in Marietta.
