need help identifying this gun
« on: May 27, 2020, 09:51:48 PM »
Real gold inlay (yes, i have it tested by some gold experts and it's real gold).
First image is the specimen that they took from the gun to test the gold.
Where i can get more information regarding the date and origin of this gun?
Thank you very much.

It's for some Maha or official big wig somewhere in the in the Middle East...or India. I find these difficult to date. I'd say possibly around 1800 or after, possibly as late as 1860. This one appears to be possibly of german/austrian origin?  Just a guess. Ah, Persia...could have some connection there too.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?
