dyed waxed linen chord
« on: May 30, 2020, 05:52:39 PM »
A couple of forum folks and shooters have asked me aboout the dyed waxed linen thread that is used by  Gail Mumma when she makes here powderhoprn straps.

I always stop by their dispplay at Dixons because her husband makes som wicked looking turned bone spouts for ball bags ( and maybe horns) and pick and brush sets that will kick your teeth in.

Mrs. Mumma pointed me to RoyalwoodLtd.com at 800 526-1630.

Um juss Sayn...

Yes sir. This is my outlet for waxed linen thread.

I also ordered a very large spool (2000 yards) from Lusie's Linen... Price was $40 to $45 range for white unwaxed. I got 4 ply (largest they had) hoping it would work... Bad news is it's on the small side for weaving. But still mght work and I will try it

The good news is that if it doesn't work for weaving I will still have a lifetime supply of linen thread for leatherworking.

Between rotating shifts while earning a paycheck, household chores, the shed remodel, and trying to tick items off of the wife's growing list of projects... I haven't had much time for crafting lately.

We recently had central heat and air installed in the house and I saved myself some money by volunteering myself to do the electrical portion... So today I get to crawl under the house and run conduit/pull wire to the condenser unit outside.

Then I get to assemble a swing set for the little one and plant some stuff for our container garden.

I'll be back eventually.
