Berks County Toe Plate Engravings?
«

Finishing up a build for parts I've had laying around since 2008 (?!)
I have this Toe Plate but can't seem to find any engraved or engraving pattern examples.
Can anyone lend a hand with a Pic or two?

Far more often than not, Berks guns, particularly with hardware of this style, are not engraved.

It likely does. Halleys came around in 1835, a bit late for these guns, but there were several other comets earlier that would have been noticed.

Looks to me like it is similar to the top of a butt plate on some Fowler's.

One thing you can do is to disguise the patchbox button as a screw head in the toe plate.
