Should I be concerned

That they used two different alloys? If the lid patinas to a different color than the rest I will not use it.

I might still use it but it really depends on how the color differs.  Big difference; no way.

sand/polish the parts off a little bit first and see if there's a color difference.  Then do a test of whatever patina you want to do before you inlet it into the stock.
When a reenactor says "They didn't write everything down"   what that really means is: "I'm too lazy to look for documentation."

Stophel is right. Looks like it might just be a different surface texture on the two pieces. That can make them look different. Sand them down to see what you have.

It seems OK.  I went ahead and used it.  I am getting to the point on this project that a minor issue will not keep me up at night. There are a couple of minor inletting issue that I can hide.
