Hey all, I've been thinking about making a haversack. I can probably come up with some dimensions, but I was wondering if anyone had some general dimensions?

Size depends on what, where, and when.  Military sacks are made to a standard.  A frontiersman, civilian, or long hunter could be any size convenient to fit all his stuff into it.  Probably best to narrow your question down to relevancy.

The one I made for browsing at the CLA show and related events is 12" x 11".  Big enough to hold a nice book if I find one.  Or, a whole bag or bite sized Snickers bars.   ;-)   I hope this helps.   God Bless,   Marc

You will do well to study Dave (T*O*F) and Marcrugers work
Also, check in with all the vendors and catalogues out there because they will often comment on the documentation behind their products..  In the end, it'll boil down to your persona and how many Snickers minis you want to bring on your trip.
