Buck Skinner Knife Trilogy
« on: July 06, 2020, 06:34:38 PM »
Finished up my deer antler patch knife to complete my Buck Skinner Trilogy.  Started as a 3 1/2 inch piece of file---finished as an 8 inch patch knife.  All three knives are made the same way.  Hope y'all enjoyed the journey.  I'm now done posting for awhile as I need to do some work on making & reducing weight on some of my longbows/selfbows...tippit

I see three knives.

Of the three knives, these are the ones I would rate as “superb”:

All of them.

Very nice set, I’d be happy to carry any/all those. Nice Osage longbow, too...I need to string mine up and shoot a few...

Very appealing.  The middle guy looks like a mini-Nessmuck.

I like the bottom knife best I believe you can do more with a small knife. Although the big ones look cool.   Also like the Osage bow. I need to sell mine after rotator cuff surgery I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pull 50lbs again. Nice blade forging.

That Osage bow was 53# and I just reduced it to 37#.  Osage Selfbows (all one piece of Osage) are very easy to reduce weight by taking wood off the belly and keeping the tiller the same.  I build selfbows and take weight off fiberglass bows too.
