More info on Tomahawk sheath of Sir Alexander Mackenzie

I'm looking for more info on this tomahawk sheath attributed to Sir Alexander Mackenzie.



Does anyone have more photos of it? Or, maybe better, know where it is? Hopefully it is in a museum somewhere that can be contacted.

Long shots, I know.

I've seen it in person once about ten years ago. Unless a museum has acquired it recently it's in private hands. Log Cabin has a video about pipe axes and I think this axe with the sheath is in it. I'll try to find my copy and look. What are you trying to find out about it? I might can answer your question.

Thank you Mr. Barker. I believe you may be correct about it being in private hands. I did a lot of google searching yesterday and found a blurb on an auction site that suggests it has been sold/acquired privately.

I was hoping for pictures of the backside of the sheath, better pics of the strap, and approximate strap length.
I know someone, if I can reach them, who should be able to figure out strap dimensions based on measurements of the tomahawk head that are given on one website.

The back side is plain (no cross hatch tooling) and the blade had worn through it also. Like I said it's been a while since I seen it at the KRA. I think the strap was about two and a half inches wide maybe a bit more. It is in one of the Accoutrement books also, maybe the first.
