3 Flat Horns
« on: July 14, 2020, 12:09:09 AM »
Been working on a pile of flat horns last few months with Bill Smith. Since all the shows and such were cancelled he took the time to throat a few out. Took some pics today when I was up there,..he's got the finish on a few of them.

Nice work. Do you each do some of the work?

Yep,..just depends on the day as to what we're each doing but yeah,....when we get together we can knock some out. I've had a great time and learned a ton in that shop,...and he cooks a fine deer burger.

Very nice. I really like that tan/Carmel colored one. What are the dimensions on them?

Well I didn't measure but they are on the medium to big end for flat horns. The caramel is between the other 2 pictured size wise and I'd say 13" give or take around the outside curve....but that is really just a guess. It could be closer to 14",..I can ask Bill tomorrow.
,.and I like those also. Don't really get that many of them.

A year or 2 ago we measured the powder a large flat horn held,...it was 1750gr. Not saying all of these would but I'd guess the larger 2 would hit right at 1500gr give or take.  Thanks - Aaron
