Yes it is ivory, I’m sure that it was just put in at some point in time but also I can’t say for certain.

A pretty unique set of gun stuff. Having 'Hawken, St. Louis' stamped bullet molds is downright unusual. Did the rifle come with the set? The horn has a nice turn and the color is very pleasing. Thanks for posting the photos

... great stuff Mark,... I have seen very few fiddle pegs made of ivory,... they are rare birds,... most are ebony, and you see many of them used on old horns,... thanx,... Great post,..!!! ... CCF
