Powder spout help
« on: August 10, 2020, 06:31:11 AM »
Anyone know a good source to buy a spout for a Swiss powder bottle?  I believe the opening is the same size as the old Goex can.  I don't have any of these either.
I shoot Goex but just bought some Swiss.

I recall this subject coming up not that long ago. There were some good ideas but the easiest was to take the end of a toothpaste tube and glue it in the end of the plastic cap.

The black metal Goex cap will screw on a Swiss plastic can.  I drill the cap out and solder a .308 cartridge in the hole.  A .45 cart. will slide on the brass for a cap.

Not the all black plastic Goex spout. The smallest one with the silver metal cap and black plastic spout is the one you want. It's listed as Original Goex Powder Can Lid In the October link above.

Interesting. My GOEX plastic cans have black plastic caps, just as the Swiss can had.  I drilled an hole in one and used CA glue to glue in a .308 (or other??) empty
case with the base cut off.  This is for filling horns. As I has some small horns with small calibre pouring holes, I did the same with another using a cut-off .223 case.
Works fine with both GOEX, Old Enysfor and Swiss cans.
The older small metal top for metal cans also have the same scenario, but with the brass cases soldered on.

Thanks for the help.  I found that the lid from any powder can, like an IMR can, will fit the Swiss bottle.  Now I just have to empty my 4064 and I'll have a lid to make a spout.  In the mean time, I ordered one from October Country.  Track of the Wolf has a similar one but it's not available right now.

I use spouts from my glue bottles. Spare spouts are available from Lee Valley
