I haven't seen any posts about competed David Price swivel breech kits, and thought that there might be some lurking around out there!

I'm sure we would all like to see any finished guns, or works in progress.

I picked mine up last September, but have to finish another gun or two before I start.

If you haven't seen one before, they are pretty amazing.  Nice and light, almost petite.  They shoulder beautifully and I can't wait to finish mine.  I got to shoot one of David's own rifles last year, and they are a joy to shoot.

Here's mine, as it came from David:

Hi Norm,
Here is one I built using Dave's barreled action.  It was not a kit because the owner needed 4" of drop at the heel and 15+" length of pull.  My biggest challenge was keeping it from looking like a hocky stick.

Dang. All of this as I had just about gotten over the urge to own a swivel breech. Great looking rifles.  Thanks for posting them. Tim

I just bought a new old stock one of these kits last weekend. Iron mounts with one of the finest pieces of curly sugar maple that I have ever seen. Got it worth the money  8). Now to get it put together and shooting.

Yup, not fair at all!  But simply irresistible!  I get to do the fun part!

Added benefit, is that by the time I start mine, I might just be living less than an hour's drive from David!

Dave - Smart Dog - you did a grand job in your mission to keep it from not looking like a hockey stick!  Looks like your usual perfection in wood and metal.

 This is Austin’s gun.
These barrels are 13/16” tapered to 3/4” in 50 cal. The gun weighs less than 9 lbs.

I talked to Mr. Price early last spring about one of his kits and he told me at that time, that I was #25 on the list. He also told me that he doubted he would be making any more. Health and age will do it every time. I so wanted to build one and had saved for it. If anyone has new information, I would like to hear it.  I know, .........I could call him but I sent him an e-mail a few months ago and got no reply and that makes me think that he is done.. JZ

Well guys, don't get too excited about ordering one of my swivel Breech kits.  I shipped out the last one a couple of months ago.  I don't think I will be building any more kits.  I have built over fifty kits, and have built more than  fifty finished swivel breech rifles over the last thirty years.  I just turned 84 years old and I am not taking any more custom orders.  What I intend to do is to just build a few rifles for the family, no rush, no pressure.

Chowmi has asked to see some finished swivel  rifles so I will post a few of the nicer ones that I have done over the years.  As soon as I figure out what resizing means.  John Ryder ( KINGSBURY ARMS ) is coming here to my shop for a visit this weekend and he will show me how.
