Allen,
I have a very nice piece of William Bucheles stock wood with a lot of flame grain in it. As per a previous discussion today, I am leaning to making a Lehigh Schimmel to highlight the wood and let it speak for itself. The blank is only 2” wide so it will probably have to have a fairly slim cheek piece. I am trying to decide on my barrel and lock. I was considering an Oct-to-Round 28 ga/54 cal smoothbore or rifled barrel or a .50 cal B weight Swamped octagon barrel. For my lock, I was thinking a Chambers Golden Age or Dale Johnson. I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. Thanks for any suggestions you can give.
