Small horn with odd (or modified?) spout
« on: September 23, 2020, 07:03:21 PM »
Greetings All,

I recently picked up this small horn at an antiques co-op.  From a phone conversation with the seller I learned it came out of a sale in the Cumberland/Franklin County, Pennsylvania area.  It's 5 and 1/4 inches on the outside curve and the base end is 1 and 13/16 x 1 and 7/16 inches.

Yes, the stopper doesn't look as old as the other elements.  Also, the somewhat shaped spout, with a small hole just down from the end, seems odd.

Thoughts anyone?

Kevin

It looks a bit like it had an applied spout on it at one time. Nice find.

Does the hole in the side go all the way through?
I was thinking it looks like something had been attached there too. Maybe the hole passed for a pin to hold it in place?

The small hole goes completely through the one side.
