Mike: Thanks for submitting targets - I am scoring your targets as:
1/. 39: 2/. 36 1X (if only 4 fired)or possibly 46 2X, or 46 1X  if 5 shots fired on target), since this isn't in contention for a win, we'll leave it at that: 3/. 46 2X.
: 4/. 46 2X as the high shot on your 4th target is definitely a 7 - 1/2 ball rule.
Not being able to see the actual rings, makes this target a bit more difficult.
Good shooting.

.36 cal.  Bedford County. Was a little rusty. haven’t shot all year due to club being closed.
I don’t think my targets printed out the correct size. The 10 ring was Less than 2”.

Good shooting Okawbow. Looks like a 49 2x a d a 48 2x. 19 days left.
The outside of the 10 ring's white line should be 2".

Here are my two entries (Trust me, you don't need to see the third!).  I did pretty well, but a hang fire on the top one wasn't appreciated. Although the temp. was ~ 60 deg F., it was much more humid than I realized and the muddy pan and a dull flint didn't help one bit:

Tks for the submissions, Paul.  Hang-fires do suck big time.
The bottom target I score at a 49 1X - good shooting.

That's 3 guys with 49's - so far & 49 2X is the score to beat.

I'm glad you entered targets Nbogan.  The whole idea is to get out and try.
Good use of a backer makes for easier scoring.
Nice groups. A 46 and a 45, appears to me. If it warms up to above freezing
I expect Taylor and I will get out again, too.

Yes- that was a nice target. I'll beat that next time out. ;D I'll use a flinter.

LOL - THAT didn't happen.

Taylor and I went out today - bloody cold it was too. Just below freezing, but the hands took a beating.
Not used to it, yet.  Anymore, mine don't seem to and I know Taylor's hands just don't to get used to it.
Both shot poorly. This was my best.
43 1X.
.36 .350" ball, .019" pocket drill.
35gr. 3F GOEX. any more powder I would need a better patch.

I wish someone would post a score of 50!!  I cannot seem to manage it - yet.  Today's best posted below is a 49 1X.  Bitter damp cold on the hands and barrel heat obscuring target after only a couple of shots.  Big target too...you'd think it'd be easy.

It's been windy and cold here, with rain expected .  I'm planning to shoot at least a couple of targets this week, which our weather forecasters have predicted to be much nicer  ::)

It's snowing again, right now @ 6:05PM & getting colder.LOL
I will try to get out one more time - maybe it will work?
I'll use my old thumper. It shoots better than my flinters.

Considering the conditions you shot in Taylor, that's impressive work!  (Don't even remind me of that four letter word!)

Thanks Paul.  We have several inches of snow on the ground and it's damp and frosty...the kind that sucks the heat out of your fingers.  And causes heat mirage in your sights!  It's difficult to shoot slowly enough to keep the barrel cold and the fingers warm.  There are some really nice targets being submitted - really nice to see.

Only 4 1/2 days left guys. These are the winning targets so far. I blew up both for a closer comparison, and used the calipers.
As you can see, Taylor's top target is still slightly better than Chuck's.
If I were to critically score these, I would call both of them both 49 1X. Taylor's is closer to 3X with all 10's in a tight cluster totally inside the 10 ring.
Chuck's 4th 10 is 1/2 ball inside, with the 9, 1/2 ball between the 9 and 3 zones.
Taylor's group of 5 shots is 1.040" on my printout with both 10 rings the same size.
Chuck's group size is 1.580", both measures centre to centre.
Really excellent shooting, both of you.

Still 4 1/2 days left guys.

Paul and Nbogan - you both have displayed the necessary skill. Just need to get out and do it.

It's snowing here and miserable ie wet and cold with the temp hovering around the freezing mark.
I will get out and shoot this target , but soggy targets aren't great to score  :)    Maybe tomorrow .

I finally got out to shoot today. We had a bit of a snowstorm day before yesterday, but today warmed up, and everything is slushy and muddy. Anyways, here are my tries. Also as a side note, I put 3 balls into this little sticker at 50 yards too, for fun.

Thanks. I have a habit of shooting low on odd shapes targets when I can't see the bullseye. I'm afraid I won't be able to get out again before the end of the month.

I finally had a chance to shoot the target today. We've had windy , cold weather and actually have 3/4 in of ice on the pond already. So much to do to get ready for winter when you live like we do !
Anyway, here it is , my one entry which I score as 48  1 X     Deer season opens on Monday, so the next little while will be busy, but I'm looking forward to Nov's match  :)

Glad you got out, Bob. Tks for the entry.
Looks like I must choose a winner.
So- we have a tie for first place between  Chuck(okawbow) and Taylor, both with good targets and 49 2X or 49 1X scores.

I think the best way to handle this is by the second best target entered, thus Chuck entered a 48 2X & Taylor, a 49 1X.

Congratulations to all who participated & thank you.
tie:

So - Taylor wins the October postal match with this target.

Congratulations Taylor, and Okawbow  and also to everyone else who shot in this match.  Getting out and shooting is what this is all about , especially in these difficult times.  I'm really looking forward to seeing what Taylor has in store for November  :)
