I didn't feel it was appropriate to post this on Eric K.'s thread , however it's a real coincidence that I'm working on a similar stocked piece .  It's a 20 bore with a 12 inch oct / round barrel from C. Burton.
It was a means of rescuing what was originally a pistol, however, the laws being what they are here in Canada, this will no longer require a restricted firearms license, as it originally would have.
The should stock is added on ,  glued and lag bolted ...it's permanent.
Guard is wood and large, much like the trade guns, for ease of use with mitts.   There's still shaping to do, but this gives the general idea.  It will have sling swivels, which will only add to it's handiness

Yes, it's walnut , bent to shape on a hot iron.  Only one ramrod pipe. It's supposed to be a simple "poacher's" gun.

It will be.  As I mentioned, my friend had originally wanted a pistol , but given the recent blah blah blah by the present gov't  re banning handguns , we decided to go this route. 
The large guard is to accommodate gloves/mitts for cold weather rabbit hunting.

  Well the bug on building one of these got me. After seeing
Ericks  gun an now Bob's rendition. I bought a 15 inch swamped barrel from Charlie Burton. This is going to be a fun build...!
 It might be real handy in a deer blind...!!

Brass plate, Siler lock arrived from Chambers, so I can now continue .   Between working on instruments, hunting, and just basic woods roaming along with firewood cutting, it's a slow process

I have fired it, and it's a pretty cool piece. Fun to shoot .
That's my atlatl sitting on the table beside it. Took it out for some fun practice too.

The stock is one piece with reinforcing rods glued inside for obvious reasons. The stock was designed with Canadian laws in mind so as to not require registration as a pistol. The barrel is 12 inches long.
