Around the bridal area ?
Could be, or the leg on the sear is bottomed out. That's where I would put my bet without seeing it.
Or the trigger is set a bit high. I like just a bit of play in the trigger when on all positions. Applies to single hung triggers only, of course.
Also be sure you have no contact between your hammer and stock.
Don't put lock bolts in gorilla tight, not necessary. Just snug them enough to keep the lock in the mortise. You could be flexing the plate a bit.
Clean up your inlet of previous marking goop, and start spotting in again. It will show up on a part or wood somewhere.
