Integral with bone scales

Here’s a blade I finally got around to handling it’s an integral bolster with bone scales and some file work.

 Great knife, great work all around, really looks right. How thick is the spine and how long is it, over all?

Thank you, the spine is just under 1/4” the overall length is 9 5/8”.

I love homemade knives ,I traded a biacksmith for one of my flint bladed knives one time,I don't know what he did to that steel but Iv'e done 7or 8 deer with it and all you need to sharpen it is a razor strap

Beautiful blade lovely the contrast of the dark gray patina and the white of the bone scales looks comfortable in the hand

That is a fine looking take on a roach belly traditional knife Robert.  I like the notch you added to the blade.  The bone scales look very period, and the file work add dimension.  Nice forging with those integral bolsters.  Well done sir.   God Bless, Marc

Thank y’all going to try and finish up some more sometime soon. That was a blade I made about a month ago and just decided to finish it yesterday.

Robert had out a nice selection of forged knives, a sword and a tomahawk (in progress) at a small living history display.  Very nice work.  Wood, bone, horn and antler handles.  You can click on the picture for a zoomed in view.  I picked up a fine rifleman's knife from him.  God Bless,   Marc
