Daryl is right, and you don’t even have to stop at his “slow” twist rates. I cut off a 32 cal. 1 in 48 twist Barrel some years ago, and traded the cut off piece to a guy that wanted to make a cheap pistol out of it. I really never thought about it again until I ran into the guy a few years later at a Rendezvous. He thanked me profusely for selling him the barrel scrap, and said it was the best shooting pistol he ever had. I doubted his judgement on the subject enough to ask if I could shoot it. Son of a gun, that pistol with 35 grains of 3F in it was a tack driver, and would do the job at longer range than my fast twist 45 cal.
