Mystery bags
« on: October 27, 2020, 06:05:46 AM »

Several years back I purchased a lot of hunting bags on an online auction - a few I recognize the makers of but the rest are unknown to me and unsigned.  If anybody recognizes the maker of these two please let me know.  They appear to be made by the same artist.
Thanks,
Joe

Before i saw the responses, I said right away to myself curt Lyles on the left.  Curt , you're developing a reputation😎.  The one on the right could be any of a number of bag affectionados who have bought and watched Ken Scotts video.  I've got the video and it is a great education piece but never attempted to make it.  Not my style.

Eric,
Send Curt a 20 dollar bill and a stamped self addressed envelope and he will send you a signed 2X3 black and white photo of himself ;D

Hmmm I dunno Dennis $20 seems an awful lot for a wallet sized photo....an 8x10 glossy, now that’s more like it!

E Eric I was thinking about sending you a pair of bib overalls and a fancy tie to go with that wild jacket you wear to the CLA show so when you go to the Alvin York shoot you'll be looking more appropriate but Dennis's idea might be best,, just kidding you look good in that coat. And Scott you're right I am gaining a reputation but it's with the wrong folks,, I had to outrun one of them through town this morning with lights a flashing

Seeing as bag maker identification is a laudable art in and of itself here's a pic of the inside of the bag to the right of Curt's in my first post.  Maybe someone will recognize the bag lining.

Lastly, this was the other unknown from that auction but now that I know better I'm gonna take a chance and say it's also one of Curt's bags.  I already fessed up to him though - I added the strap and horn.  The strap it came with was too small for me.  The horn is an original with a repair by me.  It's my squirrel hunting rig.  Now all the more cherished knowing Curt made it and is a fellow aficionado of limb rats!
