Thanks....I made everything but the lock and the trigger guard. The lock is one of Jim Kibler's, and they are great! The guard is one of Reeves Goering's that I had for years. The barrel is one of mine, turned from .625 ID/ 1.125 OD DOM steel, which is rated at much higher pressure than black powder produces. I turn them to dimensions taken from original 18thC English fowler barrels. I swaged the butt plate from 3/32 annealed sheet brass, swaging it in a block of lead, which leaves very little cleanup. I intend to start another very soon, but I have been doing a lot of work on the forge as of late, and not ready to get back to flintlocks.
The gun shoots a .595 patched round ball with great accuracy, and the total weight is a little over 6 lbs, which is good for an old guy like me!
