Horn Books
« on: November 11, 2020, 02:12:47 AM »
A friend asked me to give these a try. His wife is a school teacher and wants to use these when participating at living history events. Oak body with horn pane to protect the paper. Brass frame cut out of sheet.
Horn books date back to 14th century. Oldest colonial recorded reference is a letter dated 1730 ordering paper and horn books from London.

I showed my wife the photos, and she is really happy.  We cannot wait to see them in person.  If this COVID mess will go away, we'd like to get back to doing events and put these to real use.  God Bless,   Marc
