When inletting the rear portion of this trigger guard, the underside was a bit thicker on one side than the other. As a relative novice, I didn’t think at the time it would affect the outcome of the inlet, but as you can see, it did. One side of the guard is inletted to correct depth while the other is below the surface of the wood. My thought is to try and fill the inlet and screw hole with scrap and a dowel, fix the underside of the guard and do it over, but I thought I would see if anyone here has a different suggestion?
