Although I envy you your shooting weather, I wouldn't trade you places for anything.  I love this country and our weather.  Nice target Alacran.

I printed out the last target but never got  enthused. You can see why. This is pretty normal. When the wind drops the temp will crash too. Ran through an area coming from Billings today, where it less windy, with a temp a 64F.
Will have to start taking the FL to range if I go... Sometimes its better there, sometimes worse. This image is in the upper end of bad. But sometimes it blows over tractor trailers within a mile of the house and I bet the I90 traffic it routed through town the avoid the really bad area. It has also broken the MT DOT weather station over there by over speed it registered 150 or so then broke. Had two blow overs that day. one after they closed it and a trucker from the SE someplace drove around the gate and then had his truck blow over on not one but TWO new Sheriffs dept SUVs. Driver was here for a time.... Fortunately the deputies were out of the vehicles working the existing mess when this happened.
Maybe I am just easily intimidated.

We have been having ideal shooting weather all the while I am in the middle of a bathroom remodel.   Guess I'll be shooting in the cold.   At least the wife is happy with her new walk in tub.  Water company will be happy too.  :)

I need to combine my alr shoot with prep for lion hunting.  Gotta check if my 45 is legal for lion with ball.  If not it'll be a 54.

Well the temp dropped some and the wind with it.
Did not seem to help much though.

Well, I'm home, rifle's clean and one target to post. However, seems a problem with too many holes.
So - no score. (or 9/28/6 = 43/36posible) Oh well, I do think I'll use the big gun next time.
I also forgot a priming horn so I tried GOEX 3F, found the Old Enysford I also had (horn) was better than GOEX for prime,
even though it appears closer to GOEX 2F in granulation size. So- learned something else (other than I shoot this rifle poorly).

I had a whole string of excuses lined up. i will say this, I am on the elevator music in the VA healthcare phone system to see if my consult to see the eye doc is still good. I would also encourage Justin to make the targets a little more old guy freindly. Without the blackened eyes and buttons I could not even see the thing. Heh, heh! AND I need to shoot more on paper with the rifle.
Soon as the VA answers I gotta clean the thing. Both barrels...

The other one. That middle circle was a pain for some reason.

I found the same thing Dan, so I used a chisel point Sharpie to make my circles.  I also added an aiming point in the bottom (belly) circle, and that helped me a lot, to see the spot I needed to hit.  I'm sure Justin doesn't want to handicap us geezers any more than he has to -  least I am hoping that's the case.

Okay, I finally decided to make time to participate in the postal matches. I thought I could shoot off hand. As you’ll see on the below target, I obviously cannot. I need a lot of practice!

However, this was good fun and good motivation to practice and learn to shoot better. After this ridiculous attempt, I spent another couple hours both off hand and at the bench. Worked on my load, my sights, and my technique.

Without further ado, I submit an 11. At least you might enjoy a little humorous coloring!

Oh, the other details - .54 cal, .530 ball, .015 mink oiled patch, 85 grains 3F.

I know the rifle will shoot. By the end of the range session, could keep 3 shot groups of about 1.5” at 50 yards from a rest.

Well, Taylor and I managed to get out again.  Here's my best effort. I did have a 30, but this scores a bit better.
Wait until you see Taylor's. He'll have to decorate his. I don't have any coloured pencils or crayons.
I should add we had a pretty nice day +1C (33.8F) but a switching wind made it a little tricky.
Quite a nice day & just barely melting. Still lots of snow, though.

Well, with that introduction, I submit my target for my second of the month...will try again a little further on.  Closer to spring should be better weather, right?

Hunting seasons here are all but over...deer and moose for sure.  Bison is all that remains, unless you have a Limited Entry endorsement.  And Daryl and I shoot in the city so were not disturbing any hunters anyway.  Wish we had deer like you folks....

Good shooting, guys, and a well decorated snowman. I'm glad you guys got a warm spell to shoot.  -19 here yesterday.
Looks like Taylor has taken the lead with a 34.  Just under 2 weeks left to shoot, everyone.  Maybe make it a family event for Christmas. Bundle up and take the kids/grandkids out with their new Christmas rifle, and see how it does.

3 misses - one of them top of the paper. No idea what happened there!  Fun target; hope to shoot it again before end of the month.

I used my Hawken rifle today and a light charge of 63 gr. FFg GOEX,  Here's my target...seems I have to throw one at least in the toilet.

We have a mickey mouse muzzleloader club at my local range, it is non competitive. That is, folks that show up shoot whatever they want and structure is mostly non existent. That being said I go whenever their scheduled range time comes up.
So I figured it would be a fine time to shoot at another snowman. Of course I was the only one shooting a flintlock, and the only one shooting offhand. I shot my .45 which I don't believe I've shot it since Justin did the CD shoot.
Any way conditions were not too bad temperature 48f. Wind Northerly 10 mph. The range is oriented so you shoot South, not the best orientation but it is what it is.
I will let Justin score my target, because I'm definitely biased.
Will try to get out and shoot one more with a different rifle.
 Merry Christmas!

Good day at the range, bright sunny day with a lite wind. I overlayed the double and the center of the ball is on the line so I scored it a hit.
