We did have snow, about 1 1/2" on Christmas morning.  This spot was in the sun and snow had already melted. It was a balmy 24 degrees in the sun.😬

It's a 62 caliber smoothbore.  I used 75 gr of Goex 2f.  I put a wad of wasper nest about the size of a 62 caliber round ball on top of that.

Then 75 gr (using same homemade measure) of #6 shot with another wad of wasper nest on top of that.

I prime with same powder.  I try to keep it simple.  Works good for me.

Nice, I like 6s also, when I don't have 5s. Makes me want to go out once more before season closes on Dec 31.

It's a 60/62 caliber smoothbore, Fusil de Chasse. Never measured it exactly.  It came from Veteran Arms or one of those such places, not really sure. I got it from a reenactor at Martins Station. However, it has a good lock and it shoots shot very well.  Never shot ball in it.  I got it just for squirrel hunting and I don't have to worry about scratching it.  I like to think it's something similar to what my ancestors in East Tennessee and southeast Kentucky may have carried in 18th century. I may get some pictures of it and my homemade accoutrements sometime and post in a new thread.

You did it the right way.  I like your gun and mine's a .62 as well.

The larger horn holds powder. I don’t know who made it. It came with the gun.
The smaller horn is one I made and it holds about 14 ounces of #6 shot

The wood and brass measure I made from materials I scrounged out of the scrap bin. The other one I made from antler and both are 75gr.  The knife came from a vendor at Martins Station.

The possibles bag I made from a set of saddle bags I found in a barn. Mice had ruined the other pouch but this one was still good. I like it because it’s roomy, comfortable to carry and was easy to make. I’m not a craftsman

The very incorrect metal ramrod I made. It fits the bore and won’t break
