Is Dan Putz still selling ramrod blanks, I found his name in search here but the post was from 2017. What would they cost now?

Eric, he does, I just recently bought some from him on eBay. I think if you just search “ramrod blanks” he’ll turn up.

I emailed Dan, he promptly got back to me. He no longer sells on eBay because of some kind of a managed money payment requirement. His rods are $5 each plus shipping and he has al sizes for 5/16 up.

We buy all of our rods from Dan.  These are very good quality.  With our previous supplier, we would reject probably one third of the rods, and the quality of the remaining ones were not all that great.  It is very rare we reject one from Dan.  These have nice grain flow and the quality of the wood is very nice as well.  I believe they are made green and then air dried which seems to help a great deal with their resiliency.

I had left an email for Mr. Putz last week.  Just a few minutes ago I received a reply from his son telling me that Mr. Putz had passed away unexpectedly on February 4th.  May he rest in peace.

I too was shocked to hear of Dan's passing.  I had never spoken to him as Katherine had always dealt with him.  About a year ago, he contacted us and commented that he had seen several kits and was impressed with the quality, but the ramrods were lacking.  He was right, so we started doing business with him and didn't have any complaints.  I don't believe he was all that old.  A real shame.

That’s young, such a shame.
