Thought i would introduce myself, as I will be hanging out here in future. I am 61 and It has been 15 years since actively shooting muzzle loaders, a move from Southern Illinois to Southeastern Indiana disrupted the habit. Recently I gave my flintlock to my son-in-law when he returned from a recent extended cruise on USS Abraham Lincoln (carrier). He is a shooter and the joy on his face made the gift that much more special. But, as luck would have it, giving that rifle away brought back the desire to shoot a flintlock....almost immediately. While I did build a Hawken half stock kit percussion rifle 20 years ago- still have it- I am not a builder. I am that guy that got the parts together well enough to work, browned the barrel, aligned the sights and called it good enough. I joined the NMLRA a few days ago and have been searching the web to get a feel for how the muzzle loader world has changed since 15 years have passed. I guess, if I want another flintlock, I am going to have to build it. This seems like a good place to hang out.
Best,
Wayne
