hook in front of lock
« on: August 28, 2009, 04:10:58 PM »
ok , i am building a blunderbuss for a friend, and the way the lock lays there is no way to pass a front lock bolt through without removing more metal from the barrel than i am comfortable with so i decided to just use a the little hook device on the nose, but what do i install in the stock to hold it? should i drive a little "L" shaped nail in there so the two "L"s hook together?

I would use a screw with a thin flat head. This is the tradition way. But I have used nails and staples. The staple gun is not quite done and I may change it to a screw.
