Take a look at Jack's Powder Keg. They sell a powder they call Jack's Battle Powder or re-enactor powder. It's Goex powder, 3F, uncoated. I've been using it for about 5 years and love it. Without the graphite coating it shoots much cleaner than regular Goex. I have had no trouble with clumping. Downside is 25# minimum order. I just got a shipment back in Nov., $16 a pound--delivered.
Newbie question:just out of curiosity what does the coating do/provide to the powder? (grain durability? moisture retardant?...) /quote]The graphite is added mostly to prevent clumping, which is moisture related, and pourability. The graphite makes the grains "slicker" so they slide easier.
