12th Annual Kentucky ALR Winter Get-together - PICTURES
« on: January 06, 2021, 09:46:41 PM »
The annual ALR cabin-fever, winter get-together of Kentucky gun-builders and longrifle lovers is set for January 30.

Unfortunately our usual site, Fort Boonesborough, is shut down until Spring, but we're not going to let a little thing like that stop us.

Our 2021 meeting will be held in the Education Room at the new Bluegrass Stockyards, 4561 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY.  The site is just off I-75 at the KY-1973/Iron Works Pike exit, EXIT 120, just a little north of Lexington.  Enter the main entrance on the east side of the big building, go to the end of the hall and turn right.  We have the room from 9:00am to 4:00pm and there is a nice restaurant on-site.  Update: the on-site restaurant will be closed on Saturday, but Red State BBQ is only about a mile down the road.

All ALR members and anyone that's interested in the study, building, shooting, etc. of long rifles, horns, bags, knives, etc. is welcome.  Please bring works in progress, recently completed pieces, antiques for discussion, items for sale or trade.

In past years we've had from 10 to 15 attendees, but we can accommodate more, and we always have a great time, so please come and join us.  We usually try to have some tutorials or demo's lined up, so if anyone has any tips or how-to's they would be willing to pass along, please let me know.

I'd like to get a rough head count, so I know how many tables and chairs we need, so please reply here if you think you will be attending.

I'll be looking forward to seeing y'all at the Fort ooops, the Stockyards!

-Ron

Glad to see some old friends and new friends are planning to attend.  Should be a good time and just a couple of weeks off.

Charles,
You will be most welcome in this group.  If you need help on something in particular, bring it along if you can.

Well I was looking forward to this, but I’m going to have to skip this year. My daughter contracted the covid and is quarantined in one room of her house away from her husband and children. My wife and I are out of quarantine Monday if we have no symptoms. Had to cancel the grandson ‘s Birthday and it is rescheduled for 30th. Maybe next year. Enjoy.

Just wanted to see if I could do it!!

Update: the on-site restaurant will be closed on Saturday, but Red State BBQ is only about a mile down the road.

This Saturday!  Weather looks good for travel.  Come on out and join us.  It will be a good time.

Do they have any decent craft beers to go along with that brisket?  Inquiring minds, and all that...

Saturday can’t get here fast enough!
