What is the saying?  If there's no pictures, it didn't happen?  We'll the turnout was a little lighter than past years, but some new guys came, we had a good time and got to see some really cool work.  And a big thanks to the Bluegrass Stockyards for allowing us the use of their education room.

Jeff and Paul

Jeff's Lehigh in progress, his Eister and southern squirrel rifle.

Portmanteau Jeff made for Wayne, circa 1980.  It's held up well.

Greg and Wayne

As usual, Wayne brought some great, interesting pieces.  The Lehigh is by Larry Mrock (I think).  The one above is Wayne's 11-day build.  It's a nice piece.

From the top, rifles by Freddie Harrison, Mike Miller, Malchiah Pifer and Jim Chambers' 4th rifle.

Greg's table.  He's doing some nice work.

Thanks for the pictures Ron. Wish I could have been there. Wayne looks like retirement is agreeing with him. Who’s your bovine buddy Wayne? Looks like you guys been doing some really nice work. Jeff’s leather work is amazing. Greg is that your new turkey gun? I bet the gobblers are in trouble in a few weeks.

David, we had a good time, sure wish you could’ve made it. Yes, that’s my southern mountain shotgun  :o.  It’s a 16 gauge Rayl barrel and a big Chambers round face lock. I’m looking forward to turkey season...I’ve tried it out on squirrels, and they sure don’t like it.

Ron, you outdid yourself on pictures and captions this year.

Thanks

Wayne, I did.  She’s a comfortable shooting gun, too.  If I can get the turkeys on my place to cooperate this year... she shoots good and hard with 3 drams of 1 1/2 Swiss and 1 1/4 ounces of copper plated #5s.

Ok guys, the attendees for Saturday’s shindig should keep a close eye on their health for the next few days...my bride tested positive for the plague this afternoon...and while I haven’t been officially tested, I’m having the same symptoms...body aches, low grade fever, coughing, etc. I don’t know where or when we were exposed, I have an idea that it could’ve been earlier this week, but I just want to warn everyone.

Wouldn’t you know it...almost a year to the day from last year, and right before the Lake Cumberland show...again.

Sure sorry to hear that.  Hope y’all get by with a mild episode.

Thanks for the heads up,

Greg,

Thanks for letting us know.  Hope you caught it after you got home ;)   As Jeff said, hope you have the weaker version.  Get well soon.

Thanks guys. It’s definitely not as bad as what I had last year. The worst part for me is the body aches that make it near impossible to either sit or lie down comfortably. I can still taste and smell, my wife can’t. We’re trying to stay well hydrated, have a pulse-oxygen meter, and are taking care of each other...this ain’t our first rodeo!  Y’all will have to take a bunch of pictures of the show, I’m not going to take any chances by attending.

Still doing ok here.... cough, cough.  Strangest thing, had a skunk in the backyard last night, but I didn't smell a thing.  Where's my sweater?  I just felt a chill......
