Neck knife
« on: January 23, 2021, 04:16:38 AM »
Forged this through tang neck knife for my lovely lady. Used an old hay rake tine, which is in this case 1095 steel. Poured pewter bolster, with an old silver dime as the end cap.

Looks nice. I like it. At first, I was questionong your smooth hands and fingernail color. Then I saw you forged it for a lovely lady.

That a very nice knife and the handle color is appealing as is the look of the blade.  The sheath even adds more character to the whole set.  This size knife is my favorite.

Gents! Thank you for the kind remarks. My lovely lady Megan adores this little knife. Just the right size and weight for a good fit.
I enjoyed building this knife for her. The leather was oil tanned.

VERY NICE KNIFE
QUESTION FOR YOU-WHAT DO YOU USE FOR A TOUCH MARK?
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NICE BELT KNIFE AND A PATCH KNIFE WITH THE TOUCH MARK BEING A "B"
AND ALSO A FLINTLOCK HAMMER.
BOTH KNIVES LOOK TO BE SIMILIAR TO YOURS
WOULD LIKE TO FIND THE MAKER.
YOU POSSIBLY?
THANKS

I use a "BD" and a very unusual stamp next to my touch mark, so I doubt its my work. In early years of forging I didn't use any makers marks at all. I would be glad to examine photos in an effort to help you ID the maker. I am also sure that if you post here in a public forum, others will chime in.
