Two original SMR trigger guards

it motivated me to post pictures of these two original forged iron trigger guards for those interested in their construction.  The top guard in both pictures is on a 19th century rifle I own of unknown origin.  The rifle has southern features BUT the trigger guard is not original to the stock based on the in-letting.  The bottom guard was purchased along with a set of southern mountain triggers from a guy who got them in Hamilton County, TN 40+ years ago.  Whether they are "Soddy Daisy" style or not I don't venture to guess.  I used the trigger guard and triggers on a rifle I built.  This guard is very simple - all one piece but neatly made.

Interesting how similar yours our in geometry.  I enjoy seeing the simple one piece trigger guards - more on my skill level at blacksmithing.
