woods walk scenario

just finished our fall rondy and woods walk and had a new scenario this year. the year is 1783 and it has been a very lean year for both the settlers and the natives. the chief of the local indians has agreed to let us hunt on tribal lands if we share the harvest. a native guide will take one hunter at a time with an opportunity to harvest 10 animals. each station has 2 animal silhouettes with different point values and degree of difficulty and point value. you must tell the guide which animal you are going to shoot. before the hunters are taken on they hunt they are warned this is snake country, be careful. each station has a sign posting what to do at that station, and one station has two snakes that are obvious[ if you are looking for them] when they get to the shooting line at that station if they haven't pointed out the snakes they are biten and must forfeit that stations points. another station is a bow, hawk and knife, the guide ask the hunter to try their weapons as they are very proud of them and then offers to hold the hunter rifle[uh-oh] if they let the indian guide hold their rifle then they are taken to a sign that reads chief like, good trade. if you want your rifle back then you must trade an animal of the tribes choice. another target is 2 bears, one is partial hidden and has blood on it. if you don't shoot the wounded bear then you have been attacked and there is another point penalty. end result was that everyone was snake bit, about half lost their rifle to the indians and about half of the hunters were attacked by the wounded bear it was an absolute hoot. everyone said it was the best woodswalk they were ever on

sounds like it was fun ....we had a shoot years ago that had a good woods walk it had trip wires that if you hit it a snake would jump out at you had an indian attacking you that you had to throw your hawk or knife bear attacking ya you only had a certain amount of time to shoot it ...They also had some really weak traps they would put below leafs and that if you tramp on them they didn`t hurt but dangit you got deducted points I miss shoots like that
