If you still have to finish the ramrod hole .......I would suggest get a length of rod and file the end a t a slight angle to make a cutting edge.   Put a slight bend in it and run it back and forth in the existing hole to straighten it out and bring it back on center.   Once you do this , you have a “hole “. ( more like a trough )  the drill can follow to the center of the stock.    I’ve done this with  some success.   Your other option ( maybe someone else has suggested this) is to patch your breakout and continue completing the ramrod channel from the top by routing the bottom of the barrel channel , then partially filling that in and finishing it with the ramrod drill.  I did this with a trade gun kit someone brought to me to put together which had the ramrod hole drilled into the barrel channel.

  paulitus; i could have lived with that but my situation is a lot different. i got a hard time getting around and when i lied my r/r/ channel i moved it a little to the lock plate side, had a hard finding the r/r hole it was all my fault now i got to live with it.

Clearly, I only posted this for fun, I  have been doing this, off and on, for 45 years, and, sadly, have not had every booboo yet😳 However, if I outlive the Sun, I am sure, by then, that I have seen it all.
