Those balls would require a patch in my rifle that is why I went with the conical type pellets as they are the right size and they are heavier.  It is hard enough to get those little pills started down the bore, I wouldn't want to mess with a tiny ball and patch.  My sausage fingers have enough problems handling the balls for my .32.

Yes - of course they would need a patch. That is the whole idea.  I understand about the small balls. The .32 cal. round balls in the winter time are horrid.
With a .22cal. ball you would need a very finely woven patch - maybe pocket drill would be best.

   Ok don't laugh at my picture i need a good cam.  This is a 5 shot group as you can see in the notes don't count the one with the arrow pointing to it ,i fired it  before i was ready. Feel like it will do better with some more testing, ordered some more test bullets the other day but for some reason they sent the size i already had guess some one made a mistake LOL.



    Remember don't laugh but there is 6 shots total there look close LOL.

I'm waiting for better weather to try my .22 ML with the new sights I put on it.  Too cold and windy to be testing a load and bullet.

I personally would try something other than Crisco Oil or Crisco Shortening.
Something like Track's Mink Oil or Neetsfoot Oil.

   Daryl, Those are on the list i have both , also after those are tried  i will up the charge to around 7.5 grns powder. Don't know if i should go above 7.5 grns though. How much 3F do you think would  compare to  5grns 4F powder. These lubed wads really did help with loading but the right one is out there some where just have to find it. May even try some .062 wads these are .125.

I think you could go as high as a .22mag. case full of powder in 3F.
1/16" might be better - trying will tell everything. I would think 10gr. might be a top-end load.
