Early Ugly's
« on: February 23, 2021, 01:00:08 AM »
I have to go back and look at my old Muzzleloader Mag's but does anyone remember the advertisement for the Early Ugly shooting pouches? I forgot who made them. I do remember wanting to get one but never did. They looked pretty cool.

Early ugly usually refers to Jack Hubbard, his guns, pouches, and knives.

They are the most authentic I have seen.  He has made me many guns, a few pouches, and a few knives.

O ok maybe it was him then. I remember them looking like original bags. I have to check my early magazines. Does he have a website?

The measure was made by a good friend of mine, vent pick, and pan brush were made by myself. The knife is an old table knife reworked into a patch knife.

Flash back time.
Jack was living in our area back in late 70,early 80s,and was a member of our club. We most enjoyed his company on the primitive range.
He called himself Hatchet Jack. Maybe we gave him the name.
Is he available via email or sumpin?
Had many good campfires with the bro.
Swell Old Ugly stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I really like all of Jacks work. He definetly has a knack for getting an authentic look that is very hard to pull off.
