Dave, did you do the engrailment ( is that the correct word) with a small gouge and ‘V’ chisel?

Richard, yes. First I filed a “step” in the throat where I wanted the engrailing, then cut the pattern in with a small gouge and parting tool. Then I continued filing the flats, and the rest of the elements of the spout. I should’ve taken the strap off to show the throat area more clearly.
Guys, thanks for all the kind words...almost makes me want to do a few more! I think my next goal is to try a flat Scottish styled horn, to go with the game bag I made a year or so ago. I’ve tried the bag with several horns I have, and nothing looks quite “right”...I think a flat horn is the answer for that set.
